I was in the Army from Nov 2003 to Nov 2008. I’ve been vegetarian since the end of 2005 and vegan since the beginning of 2008. I was also deployed to Afghanistan throughout 2007. My boyfriend was in a similar situation (though his enlistment dates are earlier than mine) and he became vegetarian before he joined the Army.
