AOL stated, “Chipotle could “bear the biggest brunt” of President Trump’s trade war with Mexico, according to Instinet analyst Mark Kalinowski.
Trump has proposed a 20% tariff on goods from Mexico as a way to help pay for a wall along the US-Mexico border.”
“An avocado price increase in particular would be a huge challenge for Chipotle, which goes through more than 99 million pounds of avocados each year — and during some months, sources them exclusively from Mexico. By Kalinowski’s estimate, Chipotle may get as many as 70 million pounds of avocados from Mexico annually.”
“Our belief is that the company generally obtains about 70-90% of its avocados from Mexico, all of its limes, the majority of its jalapenos, less than half of its tomatoes, and small amounts of other items (e.g., cilantro),”

Look, If this happens it will be to fund a great reduction in Corp Taxes….Which can in the long run benefit this Corp as well as others…It will also stimulate the Avocado Farming in the USA …..So what is so bad???

I definitely do not agree with Trump’s trade wars! However, I’d like to make you aware that the avocado trade in Mexico is devastating important habitats, and the drug cartels have actually taken over the avocado industry, and growers are the victims of extortion and intimidation. Stores are carrying avocados grown in Mexico because they are cheaper. If I don’t want to support this grim situation, I have to buy California avocados online because stores in my state don’t even bother to purchase from CA. As advocates for animal and human rights and the planet, I think people should consider buying their avocados from CA growers, and at Chipotle, choose Sofritos and skip the gauc.
