IS PRESIDENT TRUMP PUSHING A VEGAN AGENDA?

Posted on October 31, 2018 by The VRG Blog Editor

According to CNN, China has been facing a potential soybean shortage after it put a new 25% tariff on importing them from the United States in July, as part of the trade war between the two countries.

China is the world’s biggest buyer of soybeans, using them as feed for livestock such as pigs and chickens. More than a third of its supply comes from the United States. According to CNN, solutions for less reliance on U.S. soybeans could mean halting all imports of United States soybeans. It seems this would fit into the vegan agenda in the United States of growing less food for animals and preserving more U.S. resources.

Tigers live longer than Cheetahs

Posted on October 29, 2018 by The VRG Blog Editor

By Kalie Ganem, VRG Intern

In all categories, Peatos, the new Cheetos alternative from World Peas Brand with a tiger mascot, leaves classic Cheetos in the dust. These healthy, tangy crunchy puffed snacks will have you licking your fingers for more. Not unlike the texture of veggie sticks or Funyuns, these little pea sticks are not quite as crunchy as pretzels, but still bring a good bit of crunch to each bite. The flavors we were sent, masala and fiery hot, are vegan alternatives. The fiery hot flavor packs a serious punch that will leave your mouth tingling afterwards. The masala flavor, which is an Indian spice containing cumin, cardamom, and peppercorn has a nice spicy note of onion and garlic that add a gentle contrast to the crunchy texture. I highly recommend these as an alternative to Cheetos as they contain more protein and fiber without any artificial flavors or colors. There is no trace of pea or vegetable flavor, making these the perfect incognito healthy snacks. They make being healthy both tasty and fun!
