Thanks to everyone who supported VRG in late 1995 and early 1996. Starting with this issue, we're thanking people by name to both give you the recognition you deserve and to show others how many people support our outreach. I'm so energized by all that VRG is accomplishing, and I'm proud to be associated with such a fine group of dedicated activists. We truly are making a tremendous difference toward avoiding animal suffering while helping people improve their health and the health of the planet.
The first phase of the Meals on Wheels project is fully funded and moving forward. I'm excited that VRG has reached the point where we are positioned to help other major organizations promote vegetarianism without having to cut back on everything else we do. This project is only possible because of many years of hard work by so many people, especially our dietitians, who have ensured VRG's information is both scientifically sound and can be used on a practical, everyday basis. Thanks to everyone who helped us build this reputation.
We now have the PC-based image scanner installed. For those who care, it's a Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 4c. This will help us improve our Internet outreach and the Journal production. It even made producing this VRG Update easier since now I can place and resize the photos easily.
We're moving forward on bringing membership in-house. We have the printer and the new mailing software installed, and we're making the final adjustments to our software setup and membership processing procedures. Thanks for helping us improve customer service and save money in the long run.
We just printed our new Latino brochure, Una Dieta Sana Para Un Corazón Sano. We know it will be very popular and an important extension to our outreach. We're looking forward to exhibiting at The American Dietetic Association Annual Meeting this fall in San Antonio, Texas. Our dietitians have already submitted the abstracts for our presentations - this promises to be another outstanding conference. A tremendous THANKS to everyone who makes all these outreach projects possible. - Brad Scott
