THE GIRL WHO LOVED JUICE
By Lenora Dernoga
Illustrated by Sue Kay
Parents looking for a veggie-friendly book to read with their pre-schoolers might want to check out The Girl Who Loved Juice. This short storybook is about a girl who absolutely loves juice. One day there was no juice to be found in her house and the girl went out searching for some more. Each person she approached told her that they didn't have any juice; however, they offered her a piece of fruit. The girl was not interested in eating a piece of fruit since she had her mind set on finding more juice to drink.
Eventually the young girl approaches another girl and once again tells her she doesn't want fruit, she wants juice. The second girl tells her "I was only trying to be nice." Finally, the girl realizes she had been so focused on finding juice that she hadn't been very friendly to each person she had met. The second girl also tells the girl that juice is made from fruit! At the end of the book, they go off and make juice together.
The Girl Who Loved Juice (ISBN 1-891043-03-X) is published by Perry Publishing. This book contains black and white illustrations.
