Sprouts Café at Ohio State University
I am writing in regard to your article on college campuses serving vegetarian meal options. Here at Ohio State University, we offer students a vegetarian dining option known as Sprouts Café. It offers complete vegetarian choices seven days a week throughout the school year. There is a salad bar with multiple options, as well as hot choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We were not on your list of colleges and universities who offer such options which is the reason for this update.

Vegan Ballet Shoes
Can you direct me to a place or a person who could help me find ballet shoes for vegan kids? I've only been able to find canvas ones with "cow" soles.
I have a very sad 5-year-old who wants to take ballet lessons, but we can't find vegan shoes for her.

Hi Beth,
Vegan ballet shoes were extremely difficult to find, but we have finally found them…in Australia! Vegan Wares is a company owned and operated by vegans. They offer shoes, boots, briefcases, wallets, dog collars, and ballet slippers. The slippers come in a charcoal microfiber or natural canvas. Sizes for women and children are available. The prices are approximately US $27-30. They have a secure site on their website where they accept internet orders. For more information contact Vegan Wares, 78 Smith St., Collingwood, 3066 VIC Australia. Phone/Fax: (03) 9417 0230. They have a full catalog on the web at: www.veganwares.com and can be emailed at [email protected].
Praise for Web Site
I stumbled upon your web site last week what an incredible resource.
I cut meat (and most dairy) in the middle of July this year, and am always on the lookout for good vegetarian resources. Your site is incredible I've been recommending it to lots of friends and family.
By the way, I've lost 12 pounds just by cutting the meat. I had a pretty healthy diet before (not a junk eater, prep almost all of family's food), but read a lot of McDougall and made the leap. If someone told me a year ago I'd be vegetarian now, I wouldn't have believed it.
