6) FEMME FATALE DC
Femme Fatale DC is the District’s platform for local women creatives and entrepreneurs Yasmin Radbod launched last October. She says: Our first three month long pop up store at 1371 H St NE, May - July 2017 was a huge success, featuring around 25 different local women owned businesses, and we are excited to open our second store soon. The second edition FFDC store will be at the former Union Social at 100 Florida Ave NE, around 4500 sq ft, at the bottom of Elevation Apartment Building (400 apartments directly above), and right by NoMa Metro, across the street from the Marriott hotel. If you’re familiar with Union Social it was a restaurant and bar, so the space is definitely built for a pop up cafe component. I know including a veggie cafe this time will be huge for both the shop and the community; The soft launch of the store is Oct 10 and hard launch (ladies only) Oct 11. The store will run thru the holidays/December, and already includes nearly 40 different local women owned businesses (fashion designers, skincare products, pottery etc) who applied and were interviewed last month.
Moving forward, FFDC will only include vegan food options (except for possiby honey). Yasmin felt it was time to bring veganism to the movement, because a woman who is intelligent, conscious, and confident would care about what she puts in her body and the impact it has on others and the Earth. They may or may not still be looking for food vendors at the time of this newsletter. See:

10) INTERNATIONAL VEGETARIAN UNION WORLD VEGFEST
For 109 years, the IVU World Congress and Vegfest has provided a communication platform to promote veg’ism worldwide. This year the IVU will host a three-day World Vegfest conference including a food festival, workshops, lectures, and performances. This, in accordance with the principles of veg’ism, contributes to prevent climate change, improve health and nutrition, create awareness of food safety, defend and save animals, build a harmonious society and more!
Global warming, deforestation, depletion of natural resources, species and habitat lost, air and water pollution and world hunger — these are all problems which we cannot put off dealing with. We must marshal the green power forces of the world, for the love of the earth, to save our planet. Joint effort is the key: unlocking the door to all our excellence. Let’s meet and work together and be strong for each other. Your participation demonstrates your support of the veg’ism lifestyle and all green organizations all over the world. Together, we are achieving the ultimate goal of making the world a better place.
