Vegetarian café. Menu includes appetizers, entrees, homemade bread, desserts, and drinks. Sample dishes include Buddha Bowl – roasted seasonal veggies, served with jasmine or brown rice and Mary’s special tahini sauce; Indian Curry Chickpea Masala – Indian spice blend cooked with fire-roasted tomatoes and coconut milk simmered with chickpeas served over a bed of fresh spinach and choice of jasmine or brown rice topped with roasted sweet potato and garnished with jalapeno/cilantro; Thai peanut noodle salad – rice noodles with Napa cabbage, purple cabbage, carrots, green onion, and mini sweet peppers, topped with crushed peanuts and mixed in a Thai peanut dressing, served with a warm baguette; Seasonal Salad – mixed green salad with roasted acorn squash, radish, celery, carrots, pepitas, thinly sliced red onion, pomegranate, homemade croutons, and maple citrus Dijon dressing; and Avocado Eggrolls – vegan eggroll wraps stuffed with creamy chunks of avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro, served on a crispy Napa cabbage Asian slaw and a side of sweet Thai chili sauce. Please note that this establishment has two separate kitchens: one is dedicated vegetarian the other is not.

Located in the Needful Things building in Charles Town’s historic downtown, Cocina Plantosaurus serves up fully vegan food in a warmly welcoming atmosphere and charming dinosaur-themed décor, without sacrificing on the vibrant flavors of traditional Puerto Rican cooking. The menu — which clearly marks dishes containing gluten, soy, coconut, and cashews — includes empanadas; mofongo (fried and mashed plantains with vegetables, chick’n, or jackfruit); sandwiches; and specialties like Stegosaurus Avocado (avocado stuffed with guava jackfruit). They also have fully vegan brunch options including pancakes and crème brûlée, and specialty non-alcoholic drinks like virgin mojito of the day and Puerto Rican-style coffee.

Vegetarian. The Wild Bean is a cafe that prepares all of its food and drinks with love and care. Not only do they support local farmers by purchasing their ingredients from them, but their coffee menu consists of organic, fair trade, bird friendly, and rainforest alliance selections. Make sure to try their scrumptious Vegan Breakfast Burrito with seasoned potatoes, avocado, spinach, tempeh bacon, and fresh salsa grilled in a whole wheat tortilla.

They focus on organic and non-GMO and have condiments, teas, dried herbs and spices, baking supplies, and even music CDs. The café; inside the store is all-vegetarian and offers tasty salads, soups, noodle bowls, and baked goods. Outdoor seating is available. Please note that the store is not completely vegetarian.

Vegan/bakery/café. Venerable Bean Bakery serves a rotating selection of all-vegan cakes, cookies, pastries, and café items like soups, salads, and sandwiches. The owner Aaron has been vegan for more than 20 years and has a passion for creating delicious vegan foods. The bakery even veganized the classic West Virginia snack, the pepperoni roll. All ingredients are clearly labeled, and gluten-free options are available. The bakery also holds ticketed four-course tasting events outside of their normal hours and takes special orders for cakes and other desserts. Venerable Bean Bakery is located inside of Mountain People’s Co-op in downtown Morgantown.
