Naijha from Land of Kush sent this message. Juneteeth this year is on June 19th:

"Hello VRG. I hope all is well. We're planning another food give away for Juneteeth at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church during their farmers market." $500 will buy about 50 vegan meals, and both support a vegan restaurant and the needy.

If you would like to support this project, you can donate at [ https://www.vrg.org/donate ] . Please write in the comments field that this is for Land of Kush food donations, and VRG will pass on the donation.

4) VRG HIGHLIGHTS

A food development company wanted to know if vitamin D from sheep's wool is vegan. It is not. See here for more information on vitamin D.
https://www.vrg.org/ingredients/index.php#vitamin_D_3 ]

VRG donors sponsored the Land of Kush's preparation and distribution of 50 vegan meals for the needy. Thanks to all our generous donors. See video of their good work here: [ https://www.facebook.com/TheLandofKush/videos/475527426962428 ]

VRG Interns Julia Stanitski, Rosa Pelch, and Adhirai Muthukumar, working in conjunction with VRG volunteer health coach Marcia Schveibinz, presented virtual vegan cooking classes for Christopher's Place. Christopher's Place is a residential employment program that offers training and recovery support to formerly homeless men in Baltimore.

Former VRG intern Juhi Dattani invited VRG Nutrition Advisor Reed Mangels, PhD, RD to be on a panel, Plant-Powered Women, organized by the North Carolina State University Sustainability Stewards. Other panelists were the co-founder of a company that makes vegan meats, the manager of the student-run farm at NC State, and an environmental activist. They discussed sustainability, influencing people to move towards a vegan diet, common misconceptions, where to buy vegan foods, their favorite vegan dishes, plus answered questions from the audience.

VRG Interns Lucia Rivera, Nina Lehr, and Clarissa Hauber assisted VRG Nutrition Advisor Reed Mangels, PhD, RD with virtual seminars for the San Jose Public Library.

We continue to send information to a myriad of users from restaurants to local groups to prisoners.

The Vegetarian Resource Group was accepted to have a 22" X 28" poster displayed at the Baltimore Washington Airport for six months. If traveling through the airport, let us know if you see this on a column in Concourse D.
