1) NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
It's 40 years since 1982, when The Vegetarian Resource Group started promoting vegetarianism and veganism. We've gone from under one percent vegetarians in the U.S., with the word vegan pretty unknown, to over 6% of the country vegetarian, and half of those being vegan. We've come a long way, but still have much more to do. Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who support these efforts.

The Earthsave Veg/Vegan Meetup restaurant gatherings are back! After a long absence, the group is meeting in-person again. They invite all who are up-to-date with Coronavirus shots and are interested in moving toward healthier, sustainable, peaceful ways of eating and living. Most meetings will be hosted by registered dietician and educator Mark Rifkin, and will be at Taj Palace restaurant in Owings Mills. The series will continue to meet on the second Sunday of each month at the same time.
The Taj Palace Vegan Buffet is $19 and will include Vegetable Pakoras, Dal Tadka, Channa Masala, Aloo Gobi, Aloo Palak, Jackfruit Karahi, Roti, Papadum, and white rice. Or you can opt to order vegetarian dishes from Taj Palace's extensive menu.
Members and guests are invited to introduce themselves and tell something about your progression or any challenges with lifestyle change. Success stories are especially appreciated!
Taj Palace is located at 9419 Common Brook Road, off Lakeside Blvd, Owings Mills, not far from the end of the Metro line. RSVP is helpful and appreciated, though not required. You can RSVP on the Earthsave Baltimore Facebook group, and on the Baltimore Vegan Meetup group.

NEW TO VEGANISM
I'm Cloe, a summer volunteer for the non-profit Empathy For All Animals, and I would like to share one of EFAA's most recent initiatives with you: New to Veganism. It is a personalized mentorship program designed to help new vegans or people interested in a plant-based lifestyle - and it comes in 4 different languages (English, Italian, French, and Spanish)! The program pairs mentees with mentors who will guide them in whatever they need for 4-6 weeks. The best part is that it is 100% free! In fact, the first 15 people to complete the program will receive US$50 each!!!
I thought that perhaps you could help to advertise New to Veganism by sharing as a resource to those who could benefit from it y posting on your social media. The other details are in this link, where the mentees can also sign up: [ https://www.efaanimals.org/mentorship ]
