Librarian Promotes VRG's Essay Contest
Hello. I am planning on advertising your essay contest for kids in the Children's
Department of the Livonia Civic Center Library. Can you give me some guidelines for
the contest? Should I collect the essays and send them to you all at once?
Patricia McEvoy Goonis, Librarian
Livonia Civic Center Library, Livonia, MI
Editors' Note: Anyone interested in promoting VRG's annual vegetarian essay contest for students can send a self-addressed stamped envelope for the guidelines to VRG, PO Box 1463, Baltimore, MD 21203. In the past we've had entire school districts promote this contest, as well as other organizations.
Loved the January/February Issue of Vegetarian Journal
Great selection of recipes in the January/February Vegetarian Journal
best I've seen in one issue!
Jim Taylor, Cockeysville, MD
Editors' Note: We're glad you enjoyed the recipes. Each issue we try to offer a wide variety of dishes. One article features ethnic cuisine, the second recipe piece is geared towards new vegetarians, and the third article usually offers a gourmet slant or some unique recipe selection. Readers can let us know what they'd like to see.
Your Website www.vrg.org is Terrific!
I am a food vegan, and came across The Vegetarian Resource Group in a cookbook. I
just checked out your website, and am really impressed. Thank you for your support
of the vegetarian/vegan community!
Benjamin Davison, via e-mail
Editors' Note: If you recently began subscribing to Vegetarian Journal, you may want to check out our website. Here you'll find the text to many articles that have run in previous issues of this magazine. Readers will also find useful information that has not appeared in Vegetarian Journal. VRG staff and volunteers add materials to our website on a regular basis. Your membership and donations support this outreach.
VJ Article Update
In the January/February 2000 issue of Vegetarian Journal we ran a review of
vegetarian soups. At the time, Vegetarian Cafe's Roasted Tomato Vegetable Soup was
listed as unable to identify. We have since been able to confirm that this product
is vegan.
